Governess

A Governess is typically a professional educator. She must either be a certified teacher or possess nothing less than a Bachelor’s degree in either childhood development, child psychology, or similar fields of study. The Governess has full charge over the children under her care including their education, and physical, emotional and psychological well-being. She tutors the children and assists them with their homework, and when necessary secures professional instructors for special training or instruction, such as piano or violin playing. She is responsible for planning the children’s daily activities, organizing their wardrobe, designing their menu in collaboration with the chef, arranging field trips and play dates, scheduling doctors’ appointments, purchasing the children’s school supplies and other necessities.
